Dear Z,
Today you turn 7 years old! Wow time sure has flown by. It seems like just yesterday you were born. You wanted to stay in my belly forEVER! Finally my kidneys screamed ENOUGH and you were born by c-section at almost 11:00pm on a Thursday night. You taught me at that moment that it was no longer just about me! Thank you for that! You have brought your Dad and I so much happiness these last 7 years. We often say our life began when you were born because we find it hard to remember our life without you in it! You constantly make us laugh with your use of new found words (tonight is was pronto). Your talent of all things Wii amazes just about everyone! You are super smart and can read like a 3rd grader. Although getting you to sit and read is always a constant challenge, unless of course it’s a Captain Underpants book! You are my own personal alarm clock, waking me up each morning between 5 and 5:30am. This is a skill that while annoyes me, makes your Dad so proud! Your current obession with Webkinz is driving us crazy but I guess there are worse things! I am most proud of your growing faith in God. Always keep your eyes on Jesus! While this world may fail you HE never will! I pray that he will always be first and foremost in your life!
Your Dad and I love you beyond words! No matter what mistakes you may make in life remember that we will always be waiting to pick you back up again, dust you off, and guide back to the right direction!
Enjoy this year being 7.....conquer the hill on your bike, catch fireflies, dig for worms, go fishing with Dad, eat breakfast with Mickey Mouse in Sept. at Disney, explore like Indiana Jones, master the lightsaber like Luke Skywalker, score a goal on the soccer field, hit a home run during baseball, and just have fun being a kid! Just promise me you won’t break any bones this year!
All my love,
Mom

Disapointed but not surprised!
Just another reason why I'm losing my patience with big corporations and am trying to work local foods and products into my budget and menu!

Nooma

I've always loved the Nooma series by Rob Bell. I think that he is a genius! I recently ordered the 13th in the series entitled Rich. Amazing! A very powerful message in only 12 minutes!
He bases the whole presentation around this verse:
"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share."
1 Timothy 6:17-18
He goes on to say:
"Let's be honest. It's easy to go to a church service, it's easy to read the bible, it's easy to discuss who believes what and who's right and who's wrong. It's easy. But when Jesus talks about his followers, he talks about people who are generous, people who clothe the naked, take food to the hungry, take water to the thirsty, people who visit the prisoner, people who invite the stranger in, people who give their time, people who give their energy, people who give their money."
Rob Bell- Nooma 013 Rich
WOW...can you feel the holy spirit stirring? How many of us have forgotten that because we are too caught up with the "stuff" of life? Are you living intentionally? Sharing your wealth..whatever that may be? One of the mind blowing statistics he shares in the short film is that it would cost $20 billion dollars to make sure everyone in our world had enough to eat. That is the same amount that we as americans spend on ice cream each year! That is unbelieveable and absolutely shameful! Rob also shares that only 8% of the world's population own a car. So even if you own a 15 year old piece junk to 92% of the people in the world you are rich! The sad thing is most of us are not satisfied with just one car, we want 2 or 3 or 10! Make a commitment right now to change! If each one of us takes one small step together we can leap!

So Beautiful....
One of my favorite shows and danced beautifully!
Choreographed by Mia Michaels, who lost her father to cancer 2 years ago. It's about a daughter dancing with her father again after she reunites with him in Heaven!
Another one of my favorites! This one from last year. Same Choreographer
